Students must register for this event on the Craven College website and arrange transport.
Please ensure that a parent or carer has contacted the school before this event to authorise absence (not on the day). A leave of absence can be completed, which can be found on the school website under parents and attendance. Alternatively, Mrs. Isherwood can be contacted via the attendance line. Where possible, students should return to school after this event.
Throughout January, Mrs. Walker will be gathering data from Yr.10 students on planned post 16 destinations. This encourages students to start considering which pathway (6th form, college or apprenticeship) is best for them. The data also helps guide appropriate interventions, speakers and external careers guidance in Yr.11.

Work Placements/ Work Shadowing Yr.10 & 12
It is heartening to see so many Yr.10 and Yr.12 students engaging in the school's work placement week. (Monday 6th to Friday 10th of July 2026)
Most students have already secured placements for the week and logged these onto the Unifrog platform.
Please direct any questions regarding work placement opportunities to me at g.walker@settlecollege.n-yorks.sch.uk;
Should students in Yr.10-13 find an opportunity to work shadow during the academic year, we will consider arranging an approved leave of absence. (excluding Yr.10/12 WEX week) Students in Yr.10-13 can use the work placement tool on Unifrog to book these days.
The more practice students get at completing on-line job applications accurately, the better.
Mock Interview Program for Yr.11 and 6th form students
Mock Interviews continue for Yr.11 and 6th form students throughout the spring and summer term.
Local employers and school governors offer their time to support students in developing these essential skills. Confidence in attending interviews supports students in securing employment and training opportunities.
