OFSTED REPORT

GOOD WITH OUTSTANDING FEATURES

 OfSTED May 2010

Settle College was inspected in May 2010, and we were delighted with the outcome of “good with outstanding features”. The full report is available to read via the link below. The result is a testament to the hard work of students, staff and Governors. We were particularly pleased that student contribution to the community, governance and leadership and management across the College were all rated as “outstanding”. Our thanks to all the students for their support and excellent conduct throughout the inspection and to parents for their very positive responses to the OfSTED questionnaire.

GCSE Results Outstanding!

Congratulations to Year 11 who have produced an exceptional set of GCSE results. With 90% of students gaining 5 or more GCSEs at grade C or above and 73% gaining 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C including English and Maths these are the College’s best ever results. They are well above national averages and a credit to all. Well done!

Welcome to Settle College

Settle College is vibrant and successful 11-19 Comprehensive School. Founded in 1907 as Settle Girls' High School, in 1959 we became Settle High School, one of the very first comprehensive schools in the UK. Our name changed again to Settle College in 2004 when the school gained Technology College status.
We are currently completing a £2.5million refurbishment as we take Years 7 and 8 for the first time in September 2012. Our core values of excellence and inclusion ensure that we provide the best possible opportunities for our students, and that each young person is well known and supported to achieve their very best. We operate an innovative Key Stage 4 curriculum which allows students to take a wide range of GCSE and BTech courses from Year 9 onwards. This is extremely successful and results in very high levels of achievement.
This is a happy and thriving school where students work hard, respect each other and take a full part in the wide range of sporting and other extra-curricular activities on offer.
We hope you will find this website useful and informative.
