OFSTED REPORT

GOOD WITH OUTSTANDING FEATURES

 OfSTED May 2010

Settle College was inspected in May 2010, and we were delighted with the outcome of “good with outstanding features”. The full report is available to read via the link below. The result is a testament to the hard work of students, staff and Governors. We were particularly pleased that student contribution to the community, governance and leadership and management across the College were all rated as “outstanding”. Our thanks to all the students for their support and excellent conduct throughout the inspection and to parents for their very positive responses to the OfSTED questionnaire.

Welcome to Settle College

Settle College is currently a mixed 13-19 Comprehensive School. Founded in 1907 as Settle Girls' High School, in 1959 we became Settle High School, one of the very first comprehensive schools in the UK. Our name changed again in 2004 when the school gained Technology College status.

In September 2012 we will expand as we take students into Years 7 and 8 following the re-structuring of schools within North Craven. We will then have a roll of 750 students including a Sixth Form of 110. In preparation for that change the College is undergoing a £2.5m programme of refurbishment which will significantly improve our facilities.

The College provides a warm and supportive environment in which to work and learn. Our core values of excellence and inclusion ensure that we provide the best possible opportunities for our students, and that each young person is well known and supported to achieve their very best. We operate vertical tutoring from Year 9 onwards which links well with our three year “stage not age” Key Stage 4, where students complete GCSE qualifications in each of Years 9, 10 and 11.

We hope you will find this website useful and informative.
