Funky Grooves, jazz beats workshop
This Jazz workshop was put on for year 10 and 11 GCSE Music students at the University of York. The project was run by the National Centre for Early Music and was lead by the trombonist Denis Rollins. The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for all students to get involved in performing and to demonstrate ensemble skills. Students learned about the key skills needed by all musicians, compositional techniques, song writing and the rehearsing process to complete a recorded ensemble performance. Students also gained an insight into studying music at the university and as a career choice.
