Funky Grooves, jazz beats workshop
On the 31st of January the year 10 and 11 GCSE Music students participated in a Jazz project at the University of York. The project was run by the National Centre for Early Music and was lead by the trombonist Denis Rollins. The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for all students to get involved in performing and to demonstrate ensemble skills. Students learnt key skills needed for any musician, compositional techniques, song writing and the rehearsing process to complete a recorded ensemble performance. Students also got an incite into studying music at the university and as a career choice.
