Drama Extra Curricular

As a Department we offer a large number of extra-curricular opportunities in the subject.

Productions

The highlight of the Department calendar is the annual whole school Christmas production. 

From September to December, staff and students work tirelessly to produce a show-stopping

production to end the term on.  Previous productions have included a modern take on

Romeo and Juliet, and The Little Shop of Horrors.  These showcased our students' acting

talents brilliantly with exceptional performances from all.  

 

 

 

 

Our 2010 production was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, from the Chronicles of Narnia. 

For December 2011 the production is "The Chrysalids".

 

 

Theatre Trips

We also organise a number of theatre trips around the North West, offering students a variety of production styles.

Recent trips have included:

  • ‘Two’ by Hull Truck Theatre Company Settle Victoria Hall

  • ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ The Lowry (Salford)

  • ‘Blood Brothers’ The Palace Theatre (Manchester)

  • ‘The Good Person of Szechwan’, Brewery Arts Centre (Kendal)
