Course Requirements
You will have an interest in ICT. To take the Advanced GCE in the second year you will have completed the AS GCE.
Course Description
The Advanced GCE qualification comprises of six equally weighted units. The AS is the first half of a GCE course and contributes 50% of the total Advanced GCE marks. The A2, the second half of the Advanced GCE, comprises the other 50% of the total Advanced GCE marks.

The ICT qualifications provide an opportunity for students to develop skills within office and multimedia applications, enhance personal productivity and also facilitate more effective communication.
The AS is a good grounding for students wanting to develop industry standard working practices and consistent ways of working. The three units give background to the applied ICT qualification and essential information for the forthcoming A2.
The A2 focuses more on the multimedia aspects of ICT and allows students to develop image manipulation, animation and web development skills. Students are expected to develop their creative skills and use the various features of a whole range of multimedia applications.
Progression
These qualifications in ICT are recognised for the purpose of application to College and University courses.
