We’re delighted to host a family concert by Settle Orchestra in our Main School Hall at 7pm.
The programme is designed to appeal to young listeners and show that classical music can be fun and exciting. This will be a very informal concert, lasting no more than an hour, with an emphasis on interaction and fun. Brian Beresford has kindly offered to be the narrator. The programme will include music from Star Wars: the Phantom Menace, Peter and the Wolf, the Toreador’s song from Bizet’s Carmen, and the Ride of the Valkyries (the last two are part of the BBC’s acclaimed ‘Ten Pieces’ education project). Thanks to the generous support of the Tutti charitable Trust, the orchestra is able to perform entirely free of charge.
Families are encouraged to book their seats in advance to be sure of a place: this can be done by emailing the orchastra’s secretary, Sarah Glossop, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Admission will also be available at the door on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
