What a wonderful morning we have had with our GCSE students getting their results! After a difficult two years, it is fantastic to see such great achievements, across all subject areas. We are celebrating GCSE and also vocational subjects.
Subjects showed fantastic outcomes across the board, through the sciences, English, maths, arts, languages and humanities.
We are pleased to report some standout performances for individuals.
Tabitha Brown achieved all grade 9s this summer at GCSE. She is going on to study A levels here at Settle College.
Daniel Craig achieved grades 8 and 9 in all but one subject. He is planning to study physics, maths and history here at our Sixth Form.
Annabelle Pettifer achieved impressive grades across a wide variety of subjects. Annabelle says “The teachers have been amazing and the support throughout my GCSEs has been incredible”.
Billy Arber achieved all grades at 7 and above, and Max Clarke also impressed with his fantastic results. Laura Broadwell has made amazing progress and achieved fantastic outcomes. Worthy of special mention are also William Hopwell, Isobel Martin and Harry Saville for their hard work and effort.
Sophie Taylor is another with great results to celebrate. Sophie says “I can’t believe it! My hard work paid off – with thanks to my teachers!” Isaac Wiggans, another happy student, said “I’ve had the best time at Settle College, and they couldn’t have done a better job!”
Congratulations to all our students today. As well as celebrating these results, it has been lovely to spend time with the students again before they begin the next stage of their educational lives. We have many students returning for Sixth Form, many others going on to college, and some students who have secured apprenticeships. We hope that all can look back on their time with us with as much fondness as we have about our time with them.
