Settle College Students Celebrate Excellent A Level Results

Year 13 students from Settle College were celebrating on Thursday on receiving their A Level results.

Nathan Jeffs, who achieved A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths, secured his place at the University of Cambridge. “I am really pleased with my results and would like to extend my thanks to all the teachers here who went above and beyond to help me,” Nathan said, “The last six years have been some of my best and I am so glad to be coming away with this university place secured.”
There were others who were equally proud of their results, with 55% of the cohort achieving the top grades of A*, A and B. Most importantly, the majority of students secured their first choice University places.
James King, who achieved A Levels in History and Maths, was delighted with his results and said, “I am very happy with my results and look forward to beginning my Apprenticeship with Hanson in September. The continuous support from Settle College has given me this opportunity.”
Isobel Clements was ecstatic, “I got 3 A’s and I passed Chemistry! I am so happy! I am going to study at the University of Brighton to study Environmental Science. I am so very, very grateful to all the staff who have supported me throughout, it means so much and I will be definitely stay in contact”
There was a 100% pass rate in almost all subjects, with many areas performing exceptionally well.
Executive Headteacher, Andrew Taylor, said, “We are delighted with the achievement of our A Level students across the board. Given the significant changes to many A Level subjects recently, a very high standard has been maintained with some outstanding individual achievements. Some students have overcome significant personal circumstances to gain these grades and they should be especially proud. Even those who have not quite achieved what they hoped for have demonstrated resilience and dedication in order to pursue their chosen career or area of study. We wish them all well as they embark upon their University life or apprenticeships.”
Enrolment for Settle College Sixth form will take place on Thursday 23rd August from 10.00am. For further information please contact Mr Simon Murphy, Head of Sixth form ( or visit our website:
