The Brilliant Club is a programme designed to emulate teaching and learning at a highly selective university.
The programme for the Settle College group began with a launch trip to the University of Manchester, where pupils met their PhD tutor, who was to visit school over the next four weeks delivering tutorials. Students were required to undertake weekly reading and writing assignments that led to the completion of an extended assignment. The programme finished with another university trip, where pupils were given a tour of the campus, met with outreach staff, received feedback on their assignments and then attended a graduation ceremony.
We’re very proud that out of the 12 schools attending, Settle College had the most students achieving University distinctions. Here they are with their graduation certificates.
